Greater Lansing Orchid Society Annual Picnic 2015

Feb. 27, 2016 [update]: The C. intermedia f. orlata has been in bloom and we were supposed to bring it to the Greater Lansing Orchid Society Show this weekend but forgot to pack it with the other plants we brought to display at the show. Bummer we didn’t get to have it at the show for others to see.

Jul. 19, 2015: Today is the Greater Lansing Orchid Society Annual Picnic and much like last year (told in this post and this post), it was tons of fun, great company and great plants! These are the orchids we took home.

Angranthes Grand Star

Angranthes Grand Star internet picture(picture from Internet) This was the first plant that caught our eye since it’s an extremely healthy-looking plant with lots of new growths.

Arpophyllum alpinum

(picture from Internet) This was the second plant we picked up off the sale tables since it’s mounted and it’s a genus we have not heard of before. It would be interesting to see this bloom while mounted!

Eurychone rothschildiana

UnknownThis is a mystery orchid plant that Rob Little Frog Farm brought to the picnic. The older members were saying that it’s from a member who moved to Australia. It looks like it has some buds developing which we hope to be able to use to ID this plant.

Oeoniella polystachys
