The Perfect Pollen Parent

Aug. 20, 2015: The Brassavola nodosa that we got at last year’s Greater Lansing Orchid Society picnic is blooming again (story told here). It’s the one with larger flowers and we thought it would be awesome to cross it with the beautiful white Cattleya that’s been teasing Larry at Telly’s Greenhouse.

Here’s Larry with the Cattleya taunting him at work.

We felt it was so appropriate that the parents of this hybrid were named after weddings and here we are marrying it with one of our favorite flowers.

For future reference, this is the B. nodosa we’re using as the pod parent! So excited!
